Raiz Invest Funds Reach $2.4 Billion Amidst Young Investor Growth

Australian fintech platform sees rising account balances and strong adoption of specialized investment portfolios.

1Quarterly Growth Performance

Raiz Invest reported a 20.2 per cent increase in funds under management, reaching $2.4 billion during the September quarter. The company recorded $69 million in net customer inflows, representing a 27.8 per cent jump compared to the previous quarter. Active customer numbers also rose 5.6 per cent year-on-year to 354,202 total users.

2Rising Average Account Balances

The average account balance grew 13.8 per cent over the past year to $6,776, signaling that users are moving beyond simple spare change contributions. This shift indicates deeper engagement and growing confidence in the platform. Customers are actively building larger portfolios rather than just parking small amounts of money for short-term savings.

3Expansion in Kids Portfolios

Raiz Kids portfolios experienced significant growth, with the number of accounts jumping nearly 25 per cent to 73,957. Total capital invested in these specific portfolios surged 42.7 per cent to $132.3 million. This trend highlights a strong interest from parents and grandparents in securing early financial starts for the next generation.

4Diversified Investment Offerings

The platform is successfully capturing more sophisticated capital through its Plus portfolios, which attracted $441.3 million. Additionally, the Jars feature, designed for goal-based investing, grew 67.2 per cent year-on-year to 46,729 accounts. These figures demonstrate that users are utilizing the platform for complex financial planning as their personal circumstances and investment needs evolve.

5Operational Transformation Strategy

CEO Craig Keary is leading a comprehensive overhaul launched in August to improve market positioning and operational efficiency. The plan includes integrating artificial intelligence for customer engagement and exploring potential strategic acquisitions. Despite incurring $500,000 in one-off transformation costs, the company maintained a healthy cash position of $15 million as of September.

6Regulatory and Compliance Challenges

The ongoing operational review has identified historical tax compliance issues that require management attention. The board is currently conducting an external review and maintaining active discussions with regulators to resolve these matters. The company has committed to providing market updates as the investigation process unfolds to ensure transparency regarding these specific financial liabilities.

7Future Product Roadmap

Raiz is preparing to expand its investment capabilities by introducing access to US-listed shares and exchange-traded funds. Direct trading on the Australian Securities Exchange is also planned for the near future. These additions aim to retain existing customers by offering broader market access while attracting new users seeking diverse international investment opportunities.

8Strategic Market Position

By evolving from a simple round-up tool into a comprehensive wealth management platform, Raiz has established a solid foundation. The combination of a young, growing customer base and increasing recurring inflows positions the company well for its next growth phase. Management remains focused on scaling operations while navigating the current transformation program.
