1General Availability Launch

Anthropic officially launched its multi-agent Code Review system for Claude Team and Enterprise organizations on October 15, 2026. This release follows a research preview phase aimed at optimizing performance. Eligible Enterprise customers can now claim between $10,000 and $50,000 in promotional credits to offset initial usage costs during a 30-day window.

2Performance and Speed Metrics

The system now operates three times faster than during the research preview, reducing typical review times from 20 minutes to between 6 and 10 minutes. Anthropic refined the agentic process to focus on critical bugs rather than formatting. Administrators can now assign specific review levels, ranging from Quick to Deep, based on repository needs.

3Automated Review Mechanism

Reviews execute in four distinct stages on Anthropic infrastructure: parallel agent analysis, verification against code, deduplication, and severity ranking. The process triggers automatically upon new pull requests via the Claude GitHub App. It provides inline comments and a summary check run, though it never blocks merges or approves code changes directly.

4Operational Scope and Constraints

Code Review operates in a managed environment with read-only repository access, analyzing diffs without building or running the code. It is currently unavailable for organizations with Zero Data Retention, HIPAA configurations, or customer-managed encryption keys. Furthermore, it does not support self-hosted environments, requiring GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Server integrations for full functionality.

5Internal Impact and Efficiency

Before implementing this internal tool, Anthropic reported that only 16% of pull requests received substantive comments, a figure that rose to 54% post-deployment. Internal data showed that code output per engineer grew by 200% over the prior year. Engineers marked less than 1% of the AI-generated findings as incorrect during the preview period.

6Customization and Tuning Controls

Teams can tune review focus using CLAUDE.md and REVIEW.md guidance files located in the base branch. The system prioritizes correctness, specifically targeting bugs that could break production environments. While administrators control repository-level settings and review frequency, they cannot select specific models, as Anthropic manages model selection to ensure optimal performance for each review.

7Credit Claiming Requirements

The credit claim window remains open until January 15, 2027, at 23:59 UTC. Credits are allocated based on active Claude Code seats at the moment of the claim. Once an owner initiates the claim, the 30-day credit period begins immediately, regardless of whether the organization has fully configured its repositories for active review.

8Strategic Role of AI Review

By automating the detection of latent bugs, such as the TrueNAS middleware issue discovered during testing, Anthropic positions Code Review as a force multiplier for engineering teams. While the system identifies critical vulnerabilities, the company emphasizes that it does not guarantee error-free code, maintaining human oversight as the final authority for all merges.
