Developed by Andrew Flynn, former industrial design lead at Dyson, this innovative product is the world's first self-watering pot that physically grows with your plant. ## Functional Origami Design The pot's foldable structure isn't just aesthetic - it's functional. As plant roots develop, the pot expands from 7cm to 16cm tall, eliminating the need for traditional repotting. This innovative design allows for natural growth without disturbing the root system. ## Smart Watering System HELIX features a capillary wicking system in its base that draws moisture from a 300ml reservoir into the soil. This provides consistent hydration for up to two weeks, ensuring plants get exactly what they need without guesswork or maintenance stress. ## Modular Growing System The pot comes with specialized accessories for seed starting and cutting propagation. Its hexagonal shape allows multiple pots to sit flush against each other, enabling users to create customizable indoor gardens that can expand with their growing ambitions. ## Sustainable Innovation Made entirely from recycled polypropylene and shipped flat, HELIX reduces both material use and transport emissions. It uses 70% less material than comparable ceramic or concrete pots, making its environmental credentials as impressive as its functionality. ## Redefining Plant Maintenance HELIX represents a paradigm shift in plant care products. By combining elegant design with practical solutions, it makes plant care accessible and enjoyable for everyone from beginners to experienced gardeners. This product stands out as a rare perfect marriage of form and function. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.yankodesign.com/2026/07/20/this-origami-pot-just-solved-the-2-things-that-kill-most-houseplants/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=this-origami-pot-just-solved-the-2-things-that-kill-most-houseplants — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
