XRP Whales Added 4.63 Billion Tokens During Downtrend
Large investors aggressively bought XRP during the price decline.
1Big Investors' Move
XRP's large wallet holders aggressively accumulated tokens as the price weakened after its July peak. Data shows these investors added roughly 4.63 billion XRP during the decline, bringing their total holdings to about 12.13 billion tokens.
2Market Dynamics
Initially, large investors sold into XRP's rally, reducing their balance to around 7.5 billion XRP by mid-August. As the market continued to fall, their balance reportedly climbed to 11.8 billion XRP by December and resumed rising in March.
3Mid-Sized Participants
Large wallets are said to have absorbed supply from mid-sized participants. Wallets holding 10-100 million XRP were steady accumulators, while those with 100,000-10 million XRP distributed their holdings.
4Exchange Movements
Binance outflows reportedly reached 91.4%, with large holders accounting for 90.5% of exchange flows. This suggests big wallets withdrew tokens into self-custody rather than depositing them for sale.
5New User Demand
Over 332,000 wallets hold at least 10,000 XRP, but new wallet creation dropped to its lowest level since November 2024, indicating limited new-user demand despite repositioning by existing holders.
6Future Expectations
Similar exchange data preceded XRP's rallies in October 2024 and June of the previous year. However, such signals haven't always triggered immediate rallies. Large investors may be early movers, but timing remains uncertain.
