Priced at $799.99, it requires a significant investment but offers practical solutions for daily use. Measuring 93.9 inches long and weighing 86.6 pounds, this machine provides air resistance from levels 1-7 and combined air+magnetic resistance from levels 8-10. ## Design and Ergonomics The UltraRow R60N features a minimalist fitness equipment design with black matte surfaces, long rail, and adjustable footrests. Its dimensions of 93.9 x 19.7 x 34.5 inches require considerable space. Despite its 86.6-pound weight, rear wheels allow for easy movement by one person. It accommodates users from 3'11" to 6'10" in height and supports up to 500 pounds. ## Setup and Storage The machine consists of two main parts that connect without screws. Setup can be done by one person. In storage mode, dimensions reduce to 35.8 x 27.6 x 52.6 inches. While not fully foldable, it can be separated into two parts for easier storage. Moving between rooms requires disassembly. ## Seat and User Experience The 16.1-inch wide seat features ergonomic design for prolonged use. Foot straps provide secure fastening. Even a 6'2" user can row comfortably. It offers 1250mm rail length with 1200mm inseam allowance and seven footrest adjustment positions. ## Display and Features The 5.3-inch LCD screen shows basic metrics including time, distance, calories, stroke count, pulse, stroke rate, 500m pace, watts, and averages. It has backlight and anti-glare features. Bluetooth connectivity is available, though pairing with the app replaces console metrics with a BT indicator. ## Resistance System The R60N offers air-only resistance from levels 1-7 and air+magnetic resistance from levels 8-10. A 32-blade fan and 3.5kg flywheel create the resistance system. The manual resistance control lever allows easy adjustments. The manufacturer claims 900N peak resistance at 25 strokes per minute, though this hasn't been independently verified. ## Workout Experience High resistance levels work well for short intense sessions, while lower levels suit longer workouts. It performs well in 2, 10, and 15-minute sessions. The rowing motion helps extend the console's AA battery life, though the machine still requires 4 AA batteries. ## Durability and Build Quality No components feel flimsy or cheap. All materials convey durability and quality. The dark color scheme provides a masculine, professional appearance. The mechanical design promises long-term reliability. ## Value for Money Normally priced at $799.99, it was available for $699.99 ($400 off) during this review. Considering its features and durability at this price point, it represents a good investment, especially for those planning regular use. ## Comparison with Competitors It stands out with its wider user range compared to other home rowers. The 500-pound weight capacity and broad height range are notable advantages. The air+magnetic hybrid resistance system offers more adjustment options than air-only models. However, its inability to fold completely might be a drawback. ## Conclusion and Evaluation The Merach UltraRow R60N is a solid choice for regular home rowing. Its suitability for short workouts makes it ideal for daily movement needs. The sturdy build and wide adjustment options promise long-term use. However, its large size and partial foldability might be problematic for small homes. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.yankodesign.com/2026/08/19/merach-ultrarow-r60n-review-built-for-harder-home-rowing/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=merach-ultrarow-r60n-review-built-for-harder-home-rowing — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
