1Joint Venture Construction Milestone

Colt DCS and RMZ officially commenced construction on the Mumbai 3 facility on October 15, 2026. This 64MW data center is part of a broader $1.7 billion investment strategy announced in 2024. The site is already fully pre-let to a hyperscale customer, marking a significant operational milestone for the partnership.

2Scaling Navi Mumbai Capacity

Mumbai 3 joins existing Mumbai 1 and 2 facilities at the Navi Mumbai campus. Upon completion, the new project will increase the site's total operational capacity to 86MW. The campus is designed to reach a total potential capacity of 148MW, supporting large enterprise and cloud workloads across multiple phases.

3Advanced AI-Ready Infrastructure

The facility is specifically engineered for high-density AI workloads and compute deployments. It utilizes a hybrid cooling architecture that integrates traditional air cooling with direct liquid-to-chip technology. A dedicated 220kV GIS substation ensures the necessary power resilience and scalability required for modern, intensive artificial intelligence processing and data operations.

4Strategic Market Expansion Goals

The partnership aims to develop 250MW of total capacity across Mumbai and Chennai. This expansion leverages Colt DCS’s 25 years of global operational experience alongside RMZ’s local supply chain relationships. The venture focuses on accelerating digital infrastructure delivery to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of the Indian digital economy.

5Sustainability and Efficiency Targets

Mumbai 3 will operate using 100% renewable energy sources. The design incorporates a closed-loop cooling system intended to achieve near-zero wastewater production during the cooling process. These measures reflect a commitment to sustainable infrastructure development, aiming to create lasting value for the local community and the wider Indian region.

6Economic and Employment Impact

The construction and subsequent operation of the Mumbai 3 data center are expected to generate over 700 jobs. The project also supports local suppliers, contractors, and various service providers within the region. This initiative aligns with the partners' broader goal of fostering economic growth through high-standard digital infrastructure investments.

7Evolving Hyperscale Demand Drivers

Industry demand is shifting toward larger deployments and significantly higher rack densities. Pratap Mane of Colt DCS noted that infrastructure must now support intensive AI workloads to remain competitive. The Mumbai 3 facility addresses these specific needs, enabling customers to scale next-generation computing while maintaining high levels of operational efficiency.

8Future-Ready Digital Foundation

The collaboration between Colt DCS and RMZ positions the Navi Mumbai campus as a critical hub for hyperscalers and neo-cloud providers. By combining scale, resilience, and speed to market, the project establishes a robust foundation for India's digital future, ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with global technological advancements and requirements.
