Operation Gallant Knight 3 marks its third anniversary since launching on November 5, 2023. Directed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the initiative provides comprehensive humanitarian, medical, and food support to Palestinians in Gaza. It serves as a critical lifeline amidst ongoing difficult living conditions within the region.
2Scale of Humanitarian Support
The UAE has delivered over 136,000 tons of aid, valued at more than 4.16 billion dollars. This contribution represents approximately 46 percent of all international humanitarian assistance reaching the Gaza Strip. The operation encompasses food, water, medical supplies, and shelter, addressing the diverse needs of women, children, and the elderly.
3Logistical Transport Network
The massive logistical effort involved 792 flights, 26 ships, and 14,711 trucks to ensure consistent delivery. Additionally, 81 airdrop operations were conducted under the Birds of Goodness initiative. These diverse transport routes—land, sea, and air—are essential for maintaining a steady flow of supplies to the affected population despite significant regional challenges.
4Medical Services Provided
The medical component of the operation has provided services to over 294,000 individuals. This effort includes operating field hospitals and health centers equipped with necessary medical devices. The UAE collaborates closely with the World Health Organization to dispatch medical convoys, ensuring that essential medicines and supplies reach those requiring urgent clinical care.
5Food Security Initiatives
To combat food insecurity, the operation supports 40 community kitchens producing eight million meals annually. Furthermore, 27 bakeries are operational, capable of producing 1.5 million bundles of bread each year. These facilities are vital for sustaining families who have been displaced or affected by the ongoing crisis within the Gaza Strip.
6Seasonal Winter Relief
The operation continues to implement seasonal projects, including a winter clothing initiative targeting one million beneficiaries. This program provides essential garments, blankets, and heating supplies to protect children, women, and the elderly during colder months. Such efforts demonstrate a commitment to addressing the immediate, changing needs of the vulnerable population.
7Logistical Hub Operations
The humanitarian aid process is managed through a dedicated logistics center in Al Arish city. Teams receive, sort, and prepare shipments before dispatching them into Gaza. This centralized hub ensures that the supply chain remains functional and efficient, allowing for the continuous flow of aid despite the complex security environment.
