This social housing development in Bron, France emphasizes the balance between geometric rationality and environmental harmony. ## Design Duality The project is based on the rigorous development of an orderly facade grid. This strict geometric structure stands in tension with the site's natural qualities, expressing the dialogue between man-made and natural through architectural language. ## Team and Collaboration Led by rue royale architectes, the project involves Alliade Habitat for project management, unes architectes for office design, and Atelier du Trèfle for landscape architecture. This interdisciplinary collaboration reflects the project's holistic approach. ## Technical Details Spanning 5,791 m², Racine Carrée will be completed in 2026. The project aims to address social housing needs while offering an architectural identity that enriches the urban fabric. ## Environmental Integration The architects balance the building's rigid geometry with the site's organic forms, creating a sustainable settlement model. The landscape design provides fluid transitions between built and natural environments. ## Social Impact Racine Carrée is not just a housing project but a manifesto focusing on the social dimension of urban transformation. This approach that maintains architectural quality while creating accessible living spaces could shape future social housing standards. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.archdaily.com/1148879/racine-carree-social-housing-rue-royale-architectes — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
