Saily Ultra eSIM Premium Plan Review: Packed With Travel Perks
Offers 5G coverage in 121 countries and exclusive benefits like airport lounge access.
1Comprehensive Travel Coverage
The Saily Ultra eSIM Premium plan provides extensive coverage including 5G in 121 countries. Designed for business travelers and multi-country tours, the service carries a $60 monthly price tag. Tests in the UK and Europe showed speeds up to 300 Mbps using EE and Vodafone networks, though speeds drop to 4G and around 15 Mbps in rural areas.
2Data Allowance and Speed Limitations
The Premium plan offers 30GB of high-speed data per month. After exceeding this quota, speeds are throttled to 1 Mbps. While sufficient for messaging and navigation, this reduced speed hampers data-intensive activities like video streaming. Utilizing Wi-Fi connections during travel emerges as a crucial strategy to conserve data allowance.
3Airport Lounge and Fast-Track Benefits
Subscribers receive one free airport lounge access and fast-track security pass monthly. Lounge access is granted via 30-minute QR codes, with additional passes provided for flight delays. However, fast-track service is available in fewer locations compared to lounges. Unused benefits can be carried forward for up to 3 months.
4Digital Security Package
As a product of Nord Security, Saily Ultra includes free access to NordVPN, NordPass, and Incogni. VPN usage on public Wi-Fi networks proves critical for data security. The package also features an ad blocker and the option to purchase extra perks using Saily credits.
5Comparison with Regional Plans
For single-country visits, regional plans offer more economical solutions. For instance, unlimited data for 15 days in the UK costs $49 (with 5GB daily speed cap). A similar one-month plan covering 35 European countries is priced at $72. More affordable options exist, like France's 20GB/30-day plan for $23.
6User Experience and Setup
On dual eSIM devices like iPhone 16, users can maintain their primary number while adding a second line. Easy setup through the Saily app enables automatic connection to local networks upon arrival. This approach helps avoid international roaming charges while ensuring transparent billing.
7Pre-Travel Preparation Tips
Downloading maps and videos beforehand optimizes data usage. Pre-booking lounge access and verifying fast-track availability at airports is recommended. Planning the 30GB allowance according to travel intensity prevents unexpected overage charges.
8Ideal User Profile
Designed for frequent travelers and multi-country tourers, Saily Ultra stands out with premium perks among eSIM services. However, the high price point may not suit occasional travelers. The productivity-enhancing lounge access and security tools particularly justify the investment for business travelers in the long run.
