The Giallorossi now sit in second place with 27 points, trailing their city rivals and league leaders, Lazio, by only a single point heading into the weekend's remaining fixtures. ## Decisive Match Moments The scoring opened with Mario Hermoso finding the net in the 27th minute, followed quickly by a Sebastian Walukiewicz own goal just three minutes later. Rodrigo Mora sealed the victory with a third goal in the 58th minute, maintaining Roma's impressive unbeaten streak throughout the current Serie A campaign this season. ## League Table Dynamics Roma’s win temporarily pushed them past Inter Milan, who currently hold 25 points and face a challenging match against Como. Lazio remains at the top with 28 points from a possible 30, but they face a difficult test against Napoli, a team currently struggling near the bottom of the table. ## Sassuolo's Precarious Position Following this defeat, Sassuolo remains in a difficult situation, sitting in 17th place with only 8 points. The club is currently just one point above the relegation zone, where Monza occupies the 18th position with 7 points. This marks the fifth consecutive league loss for the struggling Sassuolo side this season. ## Player Injury Updates The match featured the return of French international Manu Koné, who rejoined the Roma squad after a three-week absence due to a thigh injury. His participation provides a boost for the team, although his status for upcoming international duty remains a subject of discussion following his recent recovery from the muscle issue. ## Bologna's Resurgent Form Bologna continued their remarkable turnaround under manager Raffaele Palladino, who replaced Domenico Tedesco earlier this season. By securing a 2-1 victory away at Parma, the team achieved their fourth consecutive win. This streak has propelled them to 8th place in the standings with 17 points, marking a significant tactical improvement. ## Cagliari Halts Slide Cagliari successfully ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Frosinone 1-0. This result was particularly notable as Frosinone had been considered a surprise package during the early stages of the season. With this win, the Sardinian club has managed to climb to 9th place in the table, accumulating 16 points total. ## Title Race Outlook The Serie A landscape remains highly competitive as the season progresses toward the mid-point. With Roma applying direct pressure on Lazio, the upcoming match against Napoli becomes critical for the league leaders. The consistency shown by the top clubs suggests that the gap between the contenders will remain extremely narrow. ## Sources covering this story - [Ouest-France — AS Roma Closes Gap on Lazio in Serie A Standings](https://www.ouest-france.fr/sport/football/italie/as-rome/serie-a-las-rome-revient-a-un-point-de-la-lazio-5c8ecb54-daf4-11f1-81f5-8e32b0872d76?utm_source=fluxpublicactu&utm_medium=fluxrss&utm_campaign=banquedecontenu) - [RTL Nieuws — AS Roma Secures Victory Over Sassuolo to Close Gap on Lazio](https://www.rtl.nl/nieuws/sport/artikel/5663868/roma-wint-weer-en-nadert-koploper-lazio) - [RTP Notícias — Roma Climbs to Second Place After Dominant Win Over Sassuolo](https://www.rtp.pt/noticias/futebol-internacional/roma-ultrapassa-inter-e-pressiona-lazio-apos-triunfo-folgado-sobre-o-sassuolo_d1777655) - [Source — Roma Secures Decisive 3-0 Victory Over Sassuolo](https://www.rainews.it/video/2026/11/calcio-serie-a-giornata-11-roma-sassuolo-3-0-sintesi-video--51a4c295-8c70-467a-9e66-bb7c426b91d0.html) --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
