1Design transported from Cyprus to London

Architecture studio Red Deer sourced Gerolakkos stone and handmade Lefkara lace from Cyprus for Zylia restaurant. These materials were combined with stainless steel and oversized basket-like lamps to create a unique atmosphere.

2Harmony of industrial and traditional

The restaurant's design adapts to an old factory building while reflecting the origins of Cypriot cuisine. The tension between materials and textures forms the foundation of the design.

3The significance of Gerolakkos stone

Gerolakkos stone, widely used in Cyprus, was employed for the main counter and waiter stations in the restaurant. This stone adds a warm and natural feel to the space.

4Craftsmanship meets modern design

Stainless steel surfaces were combined with handmade Lefkara lace to create a warm atmosphere. These details soften the industrial design, adding a human touch.

5Contemporary interpretation of basket lamps

The oversized basket lamps that define the interior are a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Cypriot baskets. These lamps give the space an architectural presence.

6Creating atmosphere with color palette

Zylia's color palette was inspired by the muted greens of Cyprus. These colors add a warm and cozy feel to the restaurant.
