Steam updates gift and wishlist features
You can now gift games without a Steam account and organize your wishlist.
1Guest account game purchases
Steam now allows guest accounts to purchase games, not just gift cards and hardware. This change significantly simplifies the game buying process and makes it more accessible for users.
2Direct game gifting via email
With the new update, you can send games directly via email. You no longer need to know the recipient's Steam account; just send a link for them to claim the game. The only restriction is that you must be in the same country.
3Automatic regional price calculation
If you want to gift a game to a friend in another country, Steam now automatically calculates the game's price in their region at checkout. This makes international gifting much easier.
4Wishlist categories
Steam now lets you organize your wishlist into categories. You can create custom-named categories and add games to them. This feature brings more order and customization to your wishlist.
5Category-specific notifications
You can now enable or disable sale notifications for specific categories in your wishlist. This means you'll only get alerts for the games you're most interested in, rather than your entire list.
6Additional small improvements
Alongside major updates, Steam has introduced smaller but impactful enhancements like shareable wishlist links, demo availability indicators, and the ability to play trailers directly from your wishlist. These changes further refine the user experience.
