This set targets adults who grew up watching SpongeBob. With its 18+ label and matte black box, it transforms nostalgia into a modern collector’s item. ## A Set Full of Details The set offers a detailed representation of Bikini Bottom's Conch Street neighborhood. Iconic locations like SpongeBob’s pineapple house, Squidward’s Easter Island head, and Patrick’s rock are included with interior details. Each detail feels like an inside joke for fans. ## Characters and Accessories Beloved characters like SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Gary, and DoodleBob are featured in the set. Accessories such as Squidward’s clarinet, music stand, and Gary’s portrait make the set even more special. These details serve as cherished mementos for fans. ## Premium Price for Adults The 1,794-piece set is priced at $219.99, targeting adult collectors. At approximately 12.3 cents per piece, it sits at the higher end of the LEGO Icons range. This price tag sparks debate about the set’s value. ## Details for Collectors The set uses stickers for some graphic details instead of printed parts, which may be a point of criticism for meticulous collectors. However, the overall design and details offer significant appeal for fans. ## Nostalgia and Cultural Connection LEGO successfully translates SpongeBob’s absurd and surrealist visual language into bricks. Staying true to the source material, the set transforms nostalgia into a modern collector’s item, offering adults a chance to reconnect with their cultural roots. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.yankodesign.com/2026/07/21/after-14-years-legos-spongebob-is-back-and-fully-grown-up/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=after-14-years-legos-spongebob-is-back-and-fully-grown-up — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
