This 'vibe coding' method is bringing a new wave to the App Store. People like Marco Perez have created apps generating thousands in revenue without writing a single line of code. ## Success Stories Marco Perez, a 27-year-old software engineer from Chicago, earned $500 from his first AI-generated app InfoDrizzle with 1,300 downloads. His second app Stampa, created in just one week, surpassed 20,000 downloads. Inspired by these results, Perez decided to become a full-time app developer. ## App Store Boom According to Sensor Tower data, 600,000 new apps were added to the App Store in 2023 - a 30% increase from the previous year. In the first half of 2024 alone, 560,000 new apps were published. However, download growth isn't matching this pace, raising concerns about quality and discoverability. ## Removing Technical Barriers AI-powered tools are significantly lowering the technical barriers to app development. As Perez noted, the mobile app market that was hot a decade ago is experiencing a revival thanks to AI. Now anyone can quickly turn their ideas into functional apps without coding expertise. ## Quality and Discoverability Concerns Experts question whether AI-generated apps are truly revitalizing the App Store ecosystem. The flood of low-quality apps might make it harder for users to find what they need. The modest growth in download numbers supports these concerns about market saturation. ## A New Era of Entrepreneurship Vibe coding is revolutionizing entrepreneurship by enabling anyone to quickly bring ideas to life and reach global markets without technical skills. However, for long-term success, developers need to focus on user experience and quality rather than relying solely on AI-generated solutions. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.entrepreneur.com/business-news/entrepreneurs-who-arent-coding-are-flooding-apples-app-store-crazy-money — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
