1European Market Debut

XPENG introduced its flagship G9L electric SUV to Europe at the Paris Motor Show, setting a starting price of €74,990 in France. Following its September launch in China, the vehicle targets larger families by offering six- and seven-seat configurations, shifting away from China's standard five-seat layout.

2High-Speed Charging Architecture

The G9L features an 800V high-voltage electrical platform equipped with 5C charging capability. XPENG claims the vehicle can recharge from 10% to 80% battery capacity in just 11.7 minutes. Under the WLTP testing cycle, the electric full-size SUV achieves a maximum driving range of up to 591 kilometers.

3Proprietary Turing AI Chips

Under the hood, the G9L operates XPENG's NGP driver assistance system powered by the proprietary VLA 2.0 foundation model. Processing runs directly on in-house Turing AI chips, sharing the identical hardware architecture that XPENG utilizes for its IRON humanoid robot project to maximize on-device compute efficiency.

4Predictive Driving Intelligence

The integrated VLA 2.0 software retains up to 30 seconds of historical driving context while actively predicting upcoming road conditions six seconds ahead. In controlled Paris test trials, the system navigated complex roundabouts and narrow streets alongside Tesla, the only other manufacturer participating in the dedicated Autonomous Lab.

5Localised European Production

Measuring 5,120mm in length with a 3,100mm wheelbase, the full-size SUV will be sold across 64 global markets. To support regional delivery logistics, European models are assembled at Magna's contract manufacturing plant in Graz, Austria, where initial trial production officially commenced on October 7.

6Overseas Delivery Milestones

The flagship launch aligns with broader international commercial momentum for the brand. XPENG previously deployed its L03 model with integrated Google Maps across 65 territories. Aided by strong demand, the company's monthly overseas delivery volumes exceeded 10,000 units for the first time in September.

7Rigorous Safety Validation

XPENG equipped the vehicle with nine standard airbags, tire blowout stability assistance, and automatic emergency braking operational up to 150km/h. The manufacturer validated the platform through 192 physical crash tests alongside 6.74 million kilometers of cumulative road testing conducted across 26 different countries over three years.

8European Regulatory Hurdles

XPENG aims to secure the earliest certification under UNECE Regulation No. 171, Series 02, governing advanced driver assistance systems in Europe. Full continental deployment of NGP features depends entirely on this regulatory sign-off, alongside real-world public charging network compatibility with the advertised 11.7-minute ultra-fast charging performance.
