1Strategic Hardware Collaboration

Apple announced the Apple Home Collection in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The lineup features sensors, thermostats, indoor and outdoor cameras, and a smart lock. The phased commercial rollout starts in December and extends into 2027 across select major consumer markets.

2LG Broad Product Portfolio

LG developed a wide array of connected hardware, including a wired video doorbell, floodlight camera, plug-in outdoor and indoor cameras, and an ambient temperature sensor. The portfolio also introduces a smart thermostat alongside an Ultra Wideband lock designed for automated, hands-free door unlocking.

3Schneider Electric Energy Focus

Schneider Electric contributes targeted environmental monitoring products to the new hardware line. Its offerings include a dedicated smart thermostat and specialized temperature and humidity sensors. These devices integrate directly into the broader ecosystem to manage indoor climate monitoring and optimize residential energy consumption.

4Retail and Installation Support

To streamline adoption, Apple Retail formed a partnership with home security provider ADT across the United States. Customers purchasing hardware from the collection can secure professional on-site setup for an additional fee. This service model addresses common consumer installation friction for complex connected hardware.

5Intelligent Camera Features

The security cameras support HomeKit Secure Video powered by iCloud+ cloud storage. Visual intelligence algorithms identify specific entities, including faces, animals, vehicles, and packages. Additionally, the indoor camera includes physical privacy protection by automatically tilting downward whenever recognized household residents return home.

6Energy Management and Climate Control

The thermostats feature adaptive temperature scheduling that modifies heating and cooling cycles depending on real-time household occupancy. In the United States, the system shifts climate control operations to align with grid intervals when cleaner energy sources are available, reducing carbon footprints without user intervention.

7Hardware Pricing Breakdown

LG hardware ranges from the $39.95 temperature sensor to the $399.95 floodlight camera. The smart lock retails at $349.95, while LG and Schneider thermostats are priced at $199.95 each. Schneider temperature and humidity room sensors are also available for $39.95.

8Regional Availability Strategy

Market availability varies by product category across global regions. The indoor, outdoor, and doorbell cameras launch across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The remaining connected sensors, smart locks, and thermostats remain exclusively limited to customers in the US and Canada.
