For the past decade, such devices were only available as niche products. The Zinwa Q27 revives the spirit of the BlackBerry Classic with a completely new 5G Android smartphone design. Its 4-inch AMOLED display and QWERTY keyboard combination is optimized for one-handed use. ## Productivity-Focused Hardware Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip and 12GB RAM, the Q27 delivers sufficient power for heavy multitasking. It offers 256GB and 512GB storage options with microSD support. The 4,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging and 15W wireless charging ensures all-day endurance. Dual SIM and eSIM support provide important advantages for professional users. ## Modern Features with Retro Touches The Q27 features an X-axis linear motor for advanced haptic feedback. It includes rarely seen features in modern phones like a dedicated notification LED and Hi-Fi speaker. The 50MP main camera and 16MP front camera meet basic photography needs. The USB Type-C port handles both charging and wired audio transmission. ## Design and User Experience Measuring 140x74x11mm and weighing 192 grams, the Q27 boasts a compact form factor compared to today's phablets. It comes with pre-installed screen protector and protective case in black or white color options. The device runs on Android 16 with full Google Mobile Services support. ## Pricing and Production Strategy The Zinwa Q27 starts at $420 for the 256GB model and $480 for the 512GB version. The company will match production to pre-order quantities, so no confirmed shipping date has been announced yet. This strategy helps the small-scale manufacturer control inventory costs. ## Zinwa's Strategic Transformation The company's previous models involved transplanting modern hardware into refurbished BlackBerry cases. The Q27 represents a completely new design with no borrowed chassis. This move is seen as an important step for the sustainability of the physical keyboard phone market. ## Target Audience and Market Need The Q27 is designed specifically for email-focused professionals who manage multiple communication channels and prioritize productivity. It aims to address the long-unmet needs of physical keyboard enthusiasts, offering a meaningful option for this small but loyal market segment. ## What It Means for the Industry The launch of Zinwa Q27 highlights the importance of diversity in consumer preferences. Its potential success in a segment neglected by mainstream manufacturers demonstrates the opportunities in niche markets. This move proves the continuing demand for specialized user experiences. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.yankodesign.com/2026/08/03/a-420-phone-just-proved-blackberry-fans-have-been-right-all-along/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=a-420-phone-just-proved-blackberry-fans-have-been-right-all-along — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
