This new version offers CPU and GPU workloads that better reflect how modern applications use hardware, with a focus on video processing and gaming performance. ## New Scoring System Geekbench 7 introduces a completely new scoring system. As a result, test results from Geekbench 6 cannot be compared. Every device needs to be retested. ## Improved CPU Test Geekbench 7's CPU test measures single-core and multi-core performance. The new multi-core test better reflects the multi-threaded usage of real applications. ## Improved GPU Test The GPU test measures the gaming, image processing, and video editing potential of iPhones, Macs, and iPads. New machine learning tests evaluate real-time face tracking and image upscaling. ## Cross-Platform Comparison Geekbench offers a consistent benchmarking experience across all major platforms, including iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux, and Android. This allows for comparisons between Apple, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm processors. ## The Importance of Geekbench 7 Geekbench 7 provides a more accurate reflection of how modern applications use hardware, enabling users to better evaluate their devices. This is a significant advantage for both consumers and developers. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.cultofmac.com/news/geekbench-7-benchmarking-app-release-date — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
