The retailer is leveraging seasonal demand for home management products by offering up to 32% off specific models. This strategy targets pet owners seeking to isolate pets from kitchen areas while hosting guests during holiday gatherings. ## Richell Deluxe Gate Specifications The Richell Deluxe Freestanding Pet Gate is currently priced $25 below its standard retail value. New customers receive an additional $20 discount, enhancing the value proposition. The unit stands 28 inches tall and is specifically engineered for smaller or calmer dogs, as larger animals may potentially knock over or scale the structure. ## Performance and Design Features The gate covers openings ranging from 61.8 to 90.2 inches, making it suitable for wide kitchen entrances or open-concept floor plans. Unlike many competitors, it includes a built-in door for human access. While the door mechanism requires some practice for smooth operation, it provides significant utility compared to standard non-gated freestanding barriers. ## Aesthetic and Assembly Benefits Constructed with a brown wood frame, the Richell model prioritizes interior design aesthetics over the industrial look of metal alternatives. Assembly is streamlined, requiring less than 15 minutes to complete. Its lightweight construction ensures portability, allowing users to reposition the barrier easily between different rooms as household needs change throughout the day. ## Market Pricing and Trends The current pricing represents the lowest cost for the Richell Deluxe model since 2023. Beyond the flagship product, several other Richell freestanding gates are also currently listed at their lowest historical prices on the Chewy platform. This broad discounting suggests a coordinated inventory clearance or seasonal sales push for the brand. ## Testing and Validation Process The recommendation follows a rigorous testing process where 13 different models were evaluated for stability, width coverage, and ease of use. The Richell Deluxe was selected as the top pick due to its unique combination of width capacity and integrated door functionality, which remains an uncommon feature in the freestanding gate category. ## Expanded Product Portfolio Chewy is promoting additional Richell gate models that were not part of the primary testing group. These units are being marketed based on their technical specifications and existing customer feedback scores. These alternatives provide varied options for different home layouts, though their performance has not been verified by the editorial testing team. ## Consumer Impact and Conclusion The combination of direct price cuts and new-customer incentives creates a compelling entry point for pet owners. By focusing on both aesthetic appeal and functional utility, the Richell line addresses common pain points in pet management. These discounts provide a timely solution for homeowners managing pet traffic during high-activity holiday events. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/deals/richell-freestanding-dog-gates-deals-2026-10-29 — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
