# iBuyPower Slate RTX 5060 Gaming PC Drops to $899 at Best Buy Best Buy offers a $500 discount on this prebuilt system featuring Nvidia's Blackwell architecture. - **Source:** [IGN](https://www.ign.com) - **Published:** 2026-11-06 - **Topic:** [Business](https://brifing.si/c/business) - **Original article:** - **On Brifing:** https://brifing.si/s/1e4455f0-803e-460e-8a3d-82f029ab423a ## Significant Price Reduction Best Buy has launched an early Black Friday promotion, slashing $500 off the iBuyPower Slate gaming desktop. The system is now available for $899, down from its original $1,399 price point. This limited-time offer provides a cost-effective alternative to building a custom PC during current periods of inflated component pricing. ## Core Hardware Specifications The machine is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 8400F processor, a 6-core, 12-thread CPU with a 65W TDP. It includes 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD for storage. The chassis features a glass side panel, four ARGB cooling fans, and a 600W power supply unit for stability. ## Graphics and Blackwell Architecture Equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060, this system serves as an entry point to the latest Blackwell architecture. The GPU supports advanced features like multi-frame generation and DLSS 5. It is specifically optimized for 1080p gaming, consistently delivering over 60fps in most modern titles for a smooth visual experience. ## Performance Versus Steam Machine The iBuyPower Slate offers a 20% to 30% performance advantage over the $1,049 Steam Machine. Despite being $150 cheaper, the Slate provides superior processing power and graphics capabilities. This comparison highlights the value proposition of the prebuilt unit, which outperforms the base 512GB storage model of the Steam Machine. ## Memory and Storage Configuration The system utilizes a single 16GB DDR5 memory stick operating at 4,800MT/s. While dual-channel configuration is typically preferred for speed, the current price makes the included memory a strong value. Users can expand storage via an additional M.2 slot or by adding 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives to the chassis. ## Cooling and Build Quality Thermal management is handled by a single tower CPU cooler complemented by three front-mounted and one rear-mounted ARGB fan. The mid-tower case provides extra mounting points for users who wish to add more cooling hardware. The package also includes an entry-level gaming keyboard and mouse combo for immediate out-of-box use. ## Market Context for Prebuilts Current market conditions, including a memory crisis affecting RAM and SSD costs, have made building a PC increasingly expensive. Opting for a prebuilt system like the iBuyPower Slate allows consumers to bypass these individual component price hikes. This specific deal represents a strategic way to acquire a mid-range gaming machine. ## Final Purchasing Considerations This $899 price is a temporary discount, and availability is subject to change as the sale progresses. While the RTX 5060 is excellent for 1080p, users targeting 1440p or 4K resolutions should consider higher-tier alternatives like the RTX 5060 Ti. Interested buyers should act quickly before the limited-time promotion expires. ## Sources covering this story - [IGN — iBuyPower Gaming PC Discounted to $899 at Best Buy](https://www.ign.com/articles/ibuypower-rtx-5060-gaming-pc-deal-november-2026) - [Tom's Hardware — iBuyPower Slate RTX 5060 PC Discounted to $899 at Best Buy](https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/this-rtx-5060-gaming-pc-costs-less-than-the-steam-machine-grab-the-ibuypower-slate-prebuilt-pc-with-massive-usd500-discount) --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
