1USDT dominance on TRON

The TRON blockchain set a record with $87.9 billion in USDT supply during Q2, surpassing Ethereum's stablecoin supply. The network processed $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers during the same period. According to Messari's report, USDT accounts for 98.5% of TRON's stablecoin market. The total stablecoin market grew 4.1% quarter-over-quarter to reach $89.2 billion.

2Surge in network activity

The TRON network averaged 11.8 million daily transactions, showing 8.7% quarterly growth. Daily active addresses increased 11.7% to 3.6 million. On June 15, the network set a single-day record with 14.6 million transactions. Increased activity led to a 15.9% rise in network fees, totaling $699.4 million, reversing a two-quarter decline trend.

3Continued DeFi decline

TRON's DeFi ecosystem saw total value locked (TVL) decrease by 1.9% to $4.4 billion. Daily decentralized exchange (DEX) volume fell 21.7% to $49.3 million, marking the fourth consecutive quarterly decline. Despite high activity, TRX supply remained inflationary, with circulating supply increasing by 87 million tokens during the quarter.

4Expanding institutional access

Securitize launched Hamilton Lane's tokenized Senior Credit Opportunities Fund on the TRON network, creating its first institutional asset. The fund launched with approximately $4.3 million in assets under management. Grayscale added TRX to its list of assets under consideration, while a proposed staked TRX ETF from Canary Capital remained in registration.

5Growing market access

Bitnomial launched spot TRX trading in the U.S. OKX Europe introduced MiFID-regulated TRX perpetual futures. Binance.US resumed trading of the token. After the quarter, Anchorage Digital added native TRX staking and TRC-20 asset custody in July, enabling institutional clients to stake TRX directly from its custody platform.

6Impact of energy price adjustment

The fee increase marked the first quarterly rise since August 2025 governance changes reduced the network's energy unit price. Following that adjustment, network fees had declined for two consecutive quarters. Growing transaction volume and active addresses indicate the network is returning to growth trajectory.

7Token economic pressures

The TRX supply increase shows the burn mechanism isn't keeping pace with new token issuance. 87 million new TRX tokens entered circulation during the quarter. This suggests inflationary pressures persist in the token economy despite network activity growth. USDT's dominance confirms TRON's strengthening position as a payment and transfer network.

8TRON's role in financial ecosystem

TRON is assuming an increasingly important role in the financial ecosystem through stablecoin transfer growth and institutional access. USDT dominance positions the network at the center of global payment systems. Growing institutional interest and new financial product development strengthen TRON's potential as a bridge between traditional finance and crypto.
