1Project Overview

The exhibition 'Masterpieces from the Lanckoroński Collection: A Story of Antiquity' at Wawel Castle spans 250 square meters. Designed by NArchitekTURA, the project will be completed in 2026. It integrates modern display techniques into the historic fabric of the castle. Photographs are by Adam Golec.

2Design Philosophy

Architects aim to introduce unconventional modern display methods into Wawel's historic architecture. The layout features stylistic cohesion across all rooms while varying in color and material selection. This approach creates surprise elements and a gradual progression of impressions for visitors.

3Architectural Team

Lead architect Bartosz Haduch heads the project with designer Magdalena Marasik. Curators Joanna Winiewicz-Wolska and Bartłomiej Makowiecki oversee content, while Maria Tarnawska handles coordination. The investor is Wawel Royal Castle.

4Material Selection

The project utilizes products from Homapal. Diverse material choices create contrast with the historic setting while maintaining harmony. This approach significantly enhances the exhibition experience.

5Spatial Organization

The 250 sqm exhibition space is organized to provide visitors with a fluid viewing experience. Each room maintains consistent forms while spatial variety is achieved through color and material transitions. This design keeps visitor engagement high throughout.

6Cultural Heritage Meets Modernity

Located in Poland's significant cultural heritage site Wawel Castle, the project exemplifies contemporary interpretation of cultural heritage. This fusion of historic fabric with modern display techniques sets an innovative example for museum practices.

7Visitor Experience

The exhibition design enhances visitor interaction with ancient artifacts. Color and material variations create distinct atmospheres in each section. These gradual transitions ensure visitors continuously discover new experiences throughout their journey.

8Innovative Museum Approach

NArchitekTURA's project stands out for its innovative perspective on display techniques in historic settings. Blending traditional museology with modern design elements, it pioneers new standards for the industry. Opening in 2026, the exhibition aims to showcase Poland's cultural heritage on a global scale.
