New premium fare tiers offer enhanced comfort and services across domestic routes.

1Strategic Market Expansion

JetBlue Airways is introducing BlueFirst, its inaugural domestic first-class product, to markets currently lacking the Mint business-class service. This strategic rollout begins on December 8, 2026, with a planned expansion to over 30 routes by April 2027. Key destinations include New York LaGuardia, Washington D.C., Buffalo, and various Caribbean and Latin American locations.

2Tiered Fare Structure

The new service features three distinct fare tiers: BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst, and BlueFirst Flex. Benefits vary significantly between these options, particularly regarding baggage allowances. While BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex include two free checked bags with priority delivery, the BlueFirst Base tier is limited to one free checked bag for passengers.

3Enhanced Cabin Comfort

BlueFirst seats utilize a two-by-two configuration in the forward cabin, featuring Tuft Needle T N Flex foam for improved ergonomics. Passengers receive up to seven inches of additional legroom compared to the Main cabin, alongside a five-inch recline capability. These seats are specifically designed to provide a premium domestic travel experience.

4Digital Cabin Experience

The cabin integrates the latest Blueprint by JetBlue entertainment platform, offering Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphones. A standout feature is the seat-back ordering system, which includes Mixologist Mode. This allows travelers to customize cocktails by selecting specific spirits, mixers, and flavorings directly from their personal seat-back screen during the flight.

5Priority Airport Services

BlueFirst passengers benefit from an expedited airport experience, including priority check-in and access to dedicated security lanes at over 30 airports. Travelers receive Group 1 boarding privileges, ensuring early access to the aircraft and guaranteed dedicated overhead bin space, which streamlines the boarding process and reduces overall travel stress for premium customers.

6Premium Dining Options

On flights exceeding 899 miles, passengers receive bento-inspired meals featuring entrées, sides, and desserts. Snack rotations include brands like Cape Cod Chips and Wholesome Bakery. Beverage service is elevated with sommelier-selected wines from Parcelle, alongside specialty coffee from Cometeer and Joe Coffee, and premium tea selections provided by Smith Teamaker.

7BlueFirst Versus Mint

While BlueFirst enhances domestic travel, it remains distinct from the JetBlue Mint experience. Mint seats convert into fully lie-flat beds and often include private suites with direct aisle access. Furthermore, BlueFirst fares do not include complimentary access to BlueHouse lounges at JFK or Boston Logan, unlike the more comprehensive Mint service.

8Operational Market Positioning

By segmenting its premium offerings, JetBlue ensures that BlueFirst and Mint do not overlap on the same routes. This operational strategy allows the airline to provide tailored comfort levels based on flight duration and market demand. Passengers can effectively choose their preferred level of luxury based on the specific route and fare class.
