The jury reached this unanimous verdict on Thursday after three weeks of deliberations. Brand, who pleaded not guilty to all charges, will remain in police custody until his sentencing on Monday. ## Specific Criminal Charges The trial addressed seven total charges against the 51-year-old former comedian. While convicted on four counts, he was acquitted of two additional rape charges and one count of attempted indecent assault. The conviction includes the rape of a fan who was 21 years old at the time of the incident. ## Investigation and Prosecution Timeline Allegations of historic sexual misconduct first emerged three years ago through a joint investigation by The Sunday Times and Channel 4. Following these reports, the Metropolitan Police launched an official inquiry. This process culminated in formal charges being brought against Brand in April 2025, leading to the recent court proceedings. ## Career and Public Profile Brand gained prominence in the 2000s through UK television shows like Big Brother’s Big Mouth and BBC Radio 2. His international profile expanded after hosting the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 and 2010. He also appeared in films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek. ## Recent Digital Pivot In recent years, Brand transitioned into an online personality, utilizing platforms like YouTube to share political commentary. His content frequently included support for US President Donald Trump and discussions regarding his conversion to Christianity. This shift in focus occurred alongside the mounting legal scrutiny regarding his past personal conduct. ## Judicial Process Details The trial judge mandated that the jury reach a unanimous decision on all counts before delivering a verdict. The proceedings concluded on Thursday afternoon, confirming the guilty findings. Brand, who attended the trial with his wife Laura Gallacher, now awaits the final sentencing hearing scheduled for the upcoming Monday session. ## Support Resources Available Public information regarding support services was provided alongside the trial coverage.
