Seoul’s Energy Transforms The Kimchi Restaurant in Prague

SOA Architekti’s design brings Korean street food to life in Prague.

1Korean Street Food in Prague

Designed by SOA Architekti, The Kimchi offers Korean street food in Prague. Located in a former pastry shop, the restaurant reflects the vision of a Korean couple. Freshly prepared dishes combine with architecture inspired by Seoul’s visual energy.

2Daily Fresh Ingredients

The Kimchi serves dishes made with daily fresh ingredients. Limited servings ensure quality and freshness. The operational layout is divided into kitchen and service areas, allowing guests to observe the food preparation process.

3Wave Motif and Color Palette

The restaurant’s visual identity is shaped by a wave motif inspired by the Korean flag. This motif extends from the exterior to the interior, creating continuity. Blue, red, and orange colors strengthen the connection to Korean culture.

4Flexible Seating Arrangement

The Kimchi offers a flexible seating arrangement for different dining experiences. Guests can watch their meals being prepared at the open counter, sit at communal tables, or opt for takeaway. This setup adapts to fast-paced urban life.

5Material and Color Details

Blue is used across tables, benches, and wall finishes, creating a consistent visual layer. Red grout between white tiles and textured orange mesh above the counter add depth to the space.

6Modern Reflection of Korean Culture

The Kimchi brings Seoul’s visual energy and contemporary pop culture to Prague. SOA Architekti’s design combines the speed and flavor of Korean street food with architectural identity, offering a unique experience.
