1Anduril's New Funding Round

Defense tech company Anduril is reportedly raising $40 billion in a new funding round, aiming to push its valuation to $100 billion. This represents more than triple its valuation from last year.

2Boom in Defense Tech Sector

The defense tech sector is experiencing an unprecedented revival, driven by demand for drones, autonomous vehicles, and AI's role in warfare, fueled by conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

3Anduril's Growth

Anduril has capitalized on this demand, signing contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense, Air Force, Army, Dutch Ministry of Defence, NATO, and the UK Ministry of Defence. The company doubled its revenue to $2.2 billion in 2025.

4Success of Other Companies

Alongside Anduril, military aircraft maker Shield AI raised $1.5 billion, Mach Industries quadrupled its valuation to $1.8 billion, and Europe’s Helsing secured $1.8 billion at an $18 billion valuation.

5Shift to Low-Cost Systems

A common theme in these deals is the shift toward cheaper, 'attritable' systems, replacing expensive, hard-to-replace equipment. Mach CEO Ethan Thornton cited Ukraine’s use of autonomous drones as a model for cost-effective defense solutions.

6Future-Oriented Strategies

Anduril and Mach have taken steps to secure their propulsion systems. Anduril expanded domestic solid rocket motor production with Pentagon support, while Mach acquired Exquadrum for $50 million. These moves address supply bottlenecks in the low-cost weapons trend.
