1Market Registration Launch

Dubai Municipality has officially opened registration for the fifth season of Souk Al Freej. This community market initiative provides free stalls to local entrepreneurs, small business owners, and productive families. The program aims to offer an accessible retail platform for locally made goods while fostering direct engagement between sellers and diverse consumers.

2Event Schedule and Locations

The market will operate across three public parks from December 11 to January 17, running daily between 4.30pm and 10pm. The tour begins at Nad Al Sheba Rose Garden, moves to Al Barsha Pond Park, and concludes at Al Warqa Park. These locations serve as key venues for the city's winter season activities.

3Stall Capacity and Offerings

A total of 50 stalls will be available for participants throughout the event duration. This includes 10 dedicated spaces for supporting activities and food and beverage services. Vendors are encouraged to sell a variety of items, including homemade food, handicrafts, fashion pieces, and sustainable products to visitors attending the community market events.

4New Themed Attractions

The fifth season introduces several new features to enhance the visitor experience. Notable additions include an Asian Village Experience with cultural activities, a dedicated Gen Z zone, and free-play areas for children. Participants can also engage in creative workshops, a zipline experience, and a treasure hunt that guides guests through various market stalls.

5Strategic Economic Objectives

Mohammed Abdulrahman Ahli, director of the Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department, emphasized the initiative's role in supporting small businesses. By providing an organized environment, the municipality helps local products reach a broader consumer base. This effort aligns with broader goals to expand the utility of public parks beyond simple recreational use.

6Historical Visitor Engagement

The initiative has demonstrated significant popularity in previous years, reflecting the growing demand for community-focused retail spaces. The fourth edition of Souk Al Freej successfully attracted 308,842 visitors, according to official data from Dubai Municipality. This high turnout underscores the market's established position as a major seasonal attraction for residents and tourists.

7Community and Social Impact

Beyond retail opportunities, the market serves as a social hub that brings together residents of different age groups. The municipality is actively integrating cultural and recreational experiences to ensure the parks remain vibrant during the winter months. These efforts create a multifaceted environment that encourages community interaction and supports local economic development.

8Participation and Future Outlook

Interested entrepreneurs and productive families can submit their applications through the official Dubai Municipality website. As the city prepares for the upcoming season, the market continues to evolve by incorporating modern attractions like VR rides and floating markets in similar regional events. This trend highlights a shift toward experiential retail in public spaces.
