Neural Accelerators in each GPU core will enhance AI tasks. A binned version with a 5-core GPU (instead of 6 in iPhone 17 Pro) is expected. ## Increased Memory Capacity While the current model has 8GB RAM, the Neo 2 is rumored to come with 12GB RAM. This upgrade will better support Apple's on-device AI model. However, it still falls short of the 16GB standard in other Mac models. ## Advanced AI Features The A19 Pro chip and 12GB RAM will enable support for Apple's more powerful local AI model announced at WWDC. This includes improved dictation accuracy and Siri voice customization options - features unavailable on the current Neo due to hardware limitations. ## New Color Options The MacBook Neo line is known for vibrant colors like citrus and indigo. Bloomberg reports Apple plans periodic color updates for the Neo series, though specific colors for the Neo 2 remain undisclosed. ## Release Date and Pricing Expectations Following the March release of the current model, the Neo 2 with A19 Pro is expected in 2027. While pricing isn't confirmed, it will likely remain positioned as Apple's most affordable laptop option. ## Why It Matters for Users The MacBook Neo 2 combines upgraded hardware with AI capabilities at an accessible price point, making it ideal for students and entry-level users. Apple's color strategy continues to appeal to younger demographics. ## Sources covering this story - https://9to5mac.com/2026/07/22/macbook-neo-2-features-release-date/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
