Meyers highlighted the frequency of such incidents, implying Trump has grown accustomed to being jeered by thousands. ## Ghosts Following Him Meyers joked that Trump's staff might console him by saying ghosts are following him. This quip underscores how commonplace protests against the former president have become. According to The Economist, Trump is the most unpopular U.S. president since 2009. ## Booed at Sports Events During his second term, Trump faced protests at various sports events, including the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, 2025 US Open men's final, an NFL game last November, and last month's NBA finals. The 2026 World Cup final was the latest instance. ## Growing Montage Meyers quipped, 'If that montage gets any longer, we'll have to release it on DVD.' This remark highlights how frequently Trump is protested, almost making it a tradition. Sports fans aren't shy about expressing their feelings. ## Popularity Decline The Economist's data shows Trump has suffered a significant drop in popularity since taking office. Polls indicate he's the least popular U.S. president since 2009. The sports event protests are a tangible reflection of this decline. ## Media's Role Late night hosts like Seth Meyers critique political figures' popularity, reflecting public sentiment. Such content plays a key role in shaping leaders' public image.
