1Community Market Initiative

Dubai Municipality has officially opened registration for the fifth season of Souk Al Freej. This annual initiative provides a free retail platform for small business owners and productive families. By offering complimentary stalls, the project aims to support local entrepreneurs while enhancing the vibrancy of public spaces during the winter.

2Strategic Park Locations

The market will rotate through three prominent parks to maximize community reach. It begins at Nad Al Sheba Rose Garden from December 11 to 20, moves to Al Barsha Pond Park from December 25 to January 3, and concludes at Al Warqa Park from January 8 to 17, operating daily until 10pm.

3Retail Capacity Details

The upcoming season features a total of 50 stalls available for participants. Among these, 10 spaces are specifically designated for food and beverage services or supporting activities. Entrepreneurs can sell diverse items, including homemade food, handicrafts, fashion pieces, and sustainable goods, directly to a wide audience of local visitors.

4New Seasonal Attractions

To increase engagement, the fifth edition introduces several new experiences. Highlights include an Asian Village featuring themed designs and cultural activities, a dedicated zone for Gen Z, and creative workshops. Additionally, visitors can participate in a treasure hunt or experience a zipline, blending traditional shopping with modern, interactive entertainment options.

5Growth and Popularity

The market has demonstrated significant growth in public interest over recent years. The previous fourth edition successfully attracted 308,842 visitors, underscoring its role as a major community destination. This high turnout provides a valuable opportunity for small businesses to gain exposure, build customer relationships, and test their products in public.

6Supporting Local Businesses

Mohammed Abdulrahman Ahli, director of the Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department, emphasized that the market serves as a comprehensive platform. It allows participants to showcase goods in an organized environment, helping them expand their customer base and fostering public confidence in locally made products through direct consumer interaction.

7Urban Space Transformation

Beyond commerce, the initiative reflects a broader strategy to redefine the role of public parks in Dubai. By integrating retail, entertainment, and cultural experiences, the municipality aims to transform these areas into vibrant neighborhood hubs. This approach encourages social interaction and improves the overall quality of life for residents.

8Registration and Participation

Interested local entrepreneurs and productive families are invited to register through the official Dubai Municipality website. The initiative remains a key part of the city's efforts to support the small-business sector while providing families and youth with diverse, accessible recreational activities throughout the pleasant winter months in the emirate.
