Modular children's hospital opens in Ukraine
Sunflower Network builds modular hospital to heal war wounds.
1First post-war hospital
Sunflower Network has opened a modular children's hospital in Brody, Ukraine. The first healthcare infrastructure built since the 2022 Russian invasion, the facility aims to reduce patient overload in the region. The project was realized with international partners.
2Modular design advantages
The hospital was constructed using modules manufactured in Poland based on CannonDesign's template. This method saved 50% in time and costs compared to traditional construction. The modules were designed to be expandable or combinable as needed.
3Capacity and services
Expected to serve over 120,000 patients annually, the hospital features two wards, operating rooms, and an ICU. Designed with trauma-informed strategies, the facility aims to provide a safe and comforting environment for children.
4Supporting psychological recovery
The hospital not only meets clinical needs but also provides an environment conducive to children's psychological healing. It features family-friendly patient rooms, daylight-optimized design, and play areas.
5Scalable model
Project Horizon was designed as a scalable model applicable across Ukraine and other crisis zones. Its modular structure allows quick adaptation to different needs, offering a new approach to crisis management.
6Hope for the future
Sunflower Network is leading the reconstruction of Ukraine's healthcare infrastructure with this project. Built without waiting for the war to end, the hospital aims to support national recovery and inspire other infrastructure projects.
