1Artistic Fusion of Nature

Champagne house Perrier-Jouët has partnered with designer Iris van Herpen to launch a creative collection inspired by biological processes. The collaboration highlights the invisible forces shaping the natural world, blending art nouveau aesthetics with modern soundscapes. This project serves as a multidisciplinary exploration of nature as a source of transformation.

2The Symphonic Bloom Sculpture

Van Herpen created Symphonic Bloom, a sculptural piece crafted from silk and recycled 22-carat gold. Designed to wrap around a 1988 jeroboam bottle, the sculpture reflects sound and energy frequencies. The patterns were derived from cymatics, a technique that visualizes acoustic vibrations, documenting soundscapes recorded directly from the brand's champagne vineyards.

3Commitment to Regenerative Viticulture

The project aligns with Perrier-Jouët’s experimental regenerative viticulture program, which aims to restore soil health across its vineyards. Since 2021, this initiative has been implemented across 40 percent of the brand's sites. This focus on sustainability mirrors Van Herpen’s own design ethos, which prioritizes recycled materials and waste-minimization techniques in her work.

4Expanding the Collaborative Collection

Beyond the primary sculpture, the collection includes a 1999 magnum edition titled Symphonic Life, featuring intricate botanical motifs. Furthermore, cellar master Séverine Frerson collaborated on a bespoke 2018 Belle Epoque cuvée. This specific release offers tasting notes of white flowers, poached pear, and grapefruit, finished with a delicate touch of white pepper.

5Art Nouveau Historical Roots

The collaboration draws deep inspiration from the art nouveau movement, a long-standing cultural pillar for the champagne house. Designers referenced the movements of American dancer Loïe Fuller, which were previously captured in sculptures by Raoul Larche. These historical pieces are housed at the brand’s Maison Belle Époque in Épernay, France.

6Sensory Presentation and Events

The collection debuted on October 21 at the Banquet of Nature held at The Peninsula Paris. This interactive gathering combined gastronomy, champagne, and art to immerse guests in the project's sensory themes. The presentation served as a formal introduction to the partnership's philosophy regarding the intersection of living systems and design.

7Future Global Exhibition Plans

The collaboration is scheduled to continue its international journey in Miami, Florida, during Design Week in December 2026. Perrier-Jouët maintains a longstanding history with the city and the design fair. This upcoming event will provide a platform to showcase the pieces to a broader audience interested in contemporary luxury and craftsmanship.

8Design for Nature Award

Perrier-Jouët is a partner of Design Miami and previously launched the Design for Nature Award. Iris van Herpen was the inaugural recipient of this honor. During the upcoming Miami event, a final collaborative sculptural piece will be unveiled, marking the conclusion of Van Herpen’s tenure as the award's first winner.
