This promotional price represents a discount from the standard manufacturer suggested retail price of $149.99. Interested users must complete their purchase by November 8 to secure this specific rate for the desktop software suite on their devices. ## Core Application Suite Included The package provides perpetual access to four primary desktop applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. These tools are designed to handle common tasks such as writing academic papers, managing household budgets, and creating professional slide decks. Notably, the suite does not include Outlook, making it ideal for document-focused productivity workflows. ## Offline Functionality and Portability A key advantage of this version is its ability to operate fully offline, ensuring productivity remains uninterrupted during internet outages. The license is linked directly to the user's Microsoft account rather than being tied to a specific piece of hardware. This allows for flexible installation on either a single Mac or PC. ## Advanced Excel Formula Capabilities Excel users benefit from the inclusion of Dynamic Arrays, which support sophisticated functions like FILTER, SORT, and UNIQUE. These features allow for automated data management where results update in real-time as the underlying information changes. This functionality provides a significant upgrade for users who rely on spreadsheets for complex personal organization tasks. ## Enhanced Presentation Recording Features PowerPoint in the 2024 Home edition includes advanced recording capabilities that capture voice, video, and closed captions. These tools are particularly useful for students or professionals preparing presentations that need to be shared for later viewing. It simplifies the process of creating instructional content without requiring additional specialized video editing software. ## Subscription-Free Software Model This offering appeals to users who prefer a one-time purchase model over the recurring monthly subscription fees associated with Microsoft 365. By paying once, customers gain permanent access to the core apps without worrying about future billing cycles. It serves as a straightforward solution for those who do not require cloud-based services. ## Target Audience and Use Cases The software is tailored for families, students, and individuals who need reliable tools for document creation and data organization. By moving notes from physical spaces like kitchen counters to a searchable digital format, OneNote provides a centralized hub for information. It is a practical choice for those prioritizing core desktop functionality. ## Strategic Purchasing Considerations Potential buyers should note that the offer utilizes a single-use code and prices are subject to change via StackSocial. Since the license is restricted to one device, users should verify their hardware needs before purchase. This deal provides a cost-effective path to acquiring essential software tools before the November 8 expiration date. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.pcworld.com/article/3277070/microsoft-office-2024-home-is-just-119-97-through-11-8.html — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
