1Introduction to Asus Cetra Open
The Asus Cetra Open wireless earbuds stand out in the gaming audio market with their unique open-style design. Unlike traditional earbuds, their drivers sit outside the ear, allowing ambient sounds to mix with game audio. This feature is particularly beneficial for gamers who need situational awareness. Currently priced at $206.99 after a $22 discount, they offer a blend of functionality and innovative design for both gaming and general audio use.
2Design and Audio Quality
The Cetra Open earbuds deliver high-quality audio with deep customization options through a mobile or browser-based app. Their open-ear design provides a unique listening experience, ideal for gamers who prefer to stay aware of their surroundings. The earbuds also feature a respectable battery life, making them suitable for extended gaming sessions or podcast listening without frequent recharging.
3USB-C Transmitter Feature
A standout feature of the Cetra Open is the included USB-C 2.4GHz transmitter, which supports passthrough charging up to 60W. This allows users to charge their devices while gaming, eliminating the need to choose between charging and audio. However, it's important to note that the port does not support data transfer, focusing solely on charging and audio transmission.
4Compatibility and Connectivity
The Cetra Open earbuds are compatible with a wide range of devices, including the Steam Deck, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. They connect effortlessly via Bluetooth, making them versatile for both gaming and music. Additionally, a reflective band is included to link the earbuds behind the neck, enhancing stability and visibility during physical activities like running.
5Current Discount Details
Asus has introduced the first discount on the Cetra Open earbuds, reducing their price by $22 to $206.99 at Amazon and Best Buy. This makes them a more accessible option for gamers and audio enthusiasts looking for premium features without the full retail price. The original price is $229.99, and the discount is available for a limited time.
6Target Audience
The Cetra Open earbuds are designed for gamers who value situational awareness and high-quality audio. They are also suitable for podcast listeners and music enthusiasts who appreciate the open-ear design. The inclusion of a reflective band and versatile connectivity options makes them appealing to active users who need reliable audio during physical activities.
7Comparison with Traditional Earbuds
Unlike traditional earbuds that block external sounds, the Cetra Open's design allows for a mix of game audio and ambient noise. This feature is particularly useful for gamers who need to hear their surroundings, such as during online multiplayer sessions or when playing in shared spaces. The trade-off is a different audio experience compared to noise-isolating earbuds.
8Final Thoughts
The Asus Cetra Open wireless earbuds offer a unique combination of open-ear design, high-quality audio, and practical features like passthrough charging. Their current discount makes them an attractive option for gamers and audio enthusiasts. While they may not suit everyone, especially those who prefer noise isolation, they excel in providing situational awareness and versatility across multiple devices.
