BOOX Picco: The Mini E-Reader You Can Carry in Your Pocket
Features a 3.97-inch display and expandable storage.
1New Mini E-Reader
BOOX has unveiled its new Picco e-reader. With a 3.97-inch ePaper display and expandable storage, the device emphasizes portability. Price and release date have not yet been announced.
2Competitor Comparison
Picco is being compared to the similarly sized Xteink X4. The X4 has a 4.3-inch screen and a $69 price tag. For Picco to compete, it needs to be affordably priced. The X4's magnetic back design raises questions about Picco's features.
3Technical Specifications
Picco features a monochrome screen with front lighting. It includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Like other BOOX devices, it is expected to run on Android, potentially allowing app downloads from the Play Store.
4Flexibility Advantage
Picco's Android base could enable users to download books from multiple platforms. This feature offers a significant advantage over the Xteink X4, which only supports DRM-free e-books.
5Price and Release Date
BOOX has not yet shared details on Picco's release date or price. However, the company stated the device will be at an 'accessible price point.' More details are expected soon.
6Market Potential
Picco could stand out in the e-reader market with its portability and affordable price. It may be an ideal choice for frequent travelers and those who prefer compact devices. BOOX's move could expand its market share.
