Featuring a shorter chassis and wider displays, it offers a distinct experience from traditional smartphones. Its passport-sized form factor competes with flip phones in pocketability. Weighing 201g with a 9.7mm thickness, it delivers an ergonomic design that enhances daily usability. ## Display Technology With a 7.6-inch LTPO AMOLED inner display and 5.5-inch outer screen, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 provides dual experiences. The nearly invisible crease is made possible by Titanium Flex technology. Both 120Hz refresh rate displays offer vibrant colors and sharp details. Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection enhances durability against daily wear and tear. ## Performance Hardware Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 12GB/16GB RAM options, the Fold 8 delivers flagship performance. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB to accommodate user needs. The 4,800mAh battery with 45W fast charging ensures all-day power. IP48 rating provides essential protection against dust and water splashes. ## Camera System The 50MP main camera and 50MP ultra-wide lens cater to photography enthusiasts. Dual 10MP front cameras (inner and outer) excel for selfies and video calls. The expansive screen transforms photo and video editing into a more productive experience. Digital zoom and night mode features significantly enhance shooting capabilities in various conditions. ## Multitasking Prowess The Fold 8's wide inner display enables three-app multitasking simultaneously. Unlike traditional foldables, apps can be dragged, resized and rearranged freely. Tablet-optimized apps like Gmail and Chrome boost productivity. The convenient taskbar at the bottom enables swift app switching for efficient workflow management. ## Media Consumption The 16:10 aspect ratio outer display enhances video viewing experiences. The inner screen minimizes black bars for immersive movie watching. Flexible horizontal/vertical orientation adapts to content preferences. Extended YouTube sessions feel naturally tablet-like, redefining mobile entertainment. ## Gaming Performance The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 handles graphics-intensive games smoothly. Some vertically-oriented games face scaling challenges. While titles like Honkai: Star Rail perform well on both displays, Pokémon Go encounters compatibility issues. Thermal management during extended gaming sessions could be improved. ## Software Support Running One UI 9 (Android 17), the Fold 8 promises seven years of OS updates. Samsung DeX support enables desktop-like productivity. The absence of Flex Mode panel may disappoint some power users. Continued developer support for app optimization will further enhance the foldable experience. ## Future of Foldables The Galaxy Z Fold 8 sets new standards for the foldable market. Its user-friendly design and innovative features appeal to mainstream audiences. The price-to-performance ratio remains competitive against other foldables. Samsung's advancements may accelerate competitors like Apple into the foldable space sooner than expected. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/samsung-galaxy/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-8-review — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
