1Flagship Hardware Evolution

Motorola has officially unveiled the Signature 27, succeeding its predecessor with significant hardware upgrades. The device features a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo screen utilizing tandem panel technology. This display architecture incorporates two emissive layers to achieve a peak brightness of 12,000 nits, while simultaneously improving overall energy efficiency by 34 percent.

2Advanced Thermal Management

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, supported by up to 16GB of RAM. To manage heat during intensive tasks, Motorola implemented the ArcticMesh cooling system. This solution combines a micro-diamond infused thermal gel with an 8,384 mm² vapor chamber, which is 40 percent larger than the previous model.

3Battery and Charging Capabilities

The handset houses a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, representing a 35 percent capacity increase over the original Signature. It supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds. Additionally, the device offers versatile power management features, including 5W reverse wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wired charging for external accessories or secondary devices.

4Specialized Action Vision Sensor

A unique addition is the dedicated Event Vision Sensor, designed to detect pixel-level light intensity changes independently. This hardware works alongside the Action Shot feature to freeze fast-moving subjects with high precision. This mechanism operates separately from the primary camera array, ensuring specialized performance for capturing rapid motion in various lighting conditions.

5High-Resolution Camera Array

The rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor using Sony’s Lytia 910 technology with LOFIC capabilities and f/1.6 aperture. It is complemented by a 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and 100x Super Zoom Pro. A 50MP ultrawide lens with autofocus completes the setup, supporting 8K video recording at 30fps.

6Durability and Build Standards

The Signature 27 features an aluminum frame with ceramic and glass construction, protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. It meets IP68 and IP69 ingress protection standards and complies with MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability requirements. Despite these reinforcements, the device measures 7.99mm in thickness and weighs 227g, making it heavier than its predecessor.

7Software and Audio Integration

The phone ships with Android 17 and includes a commitment to seven major OS updates. Bang & Olufsen provides the audio tuning for the stereo speakers, which feature Dolby Atmos support. The device is also prepared for Google Gemini Intelligence features and includes Motorola’s proprietary Qira assistant for enhanced user interaction.

8Market Availability and Pricing

The Signature 27 launches on November 16 in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, available in Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive finishes. While the recommended retail price is €1,899, some markets will offer the device for €1,399. This pricing strategy positions the handset as a premium competitor against current market leaders.
