While existing users could continue using the app, new downloads were unavailable. Interestingly, Telegram remained available on Mac App Store and never disappeared from Google Play Store. ## Telegram's Statement Telegram acknowledged the issue in a statement to Reuters but didn't explain why the app disappeared. The company claimed the app has been restored, but this restoration appears incomplete. Direct App Store links still redirect to an error page in many regions. ## Social Media Silence Telegram remained unusually quiet on social media about the App Store issue for hours. One of its recent posts on X joked: "Crazy that we're gonna get GTA 6 before the full Epstein files." Minutes before the issue was resolved, they posted: "Reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated." ## Android Users Unaffected The issue currently appears limited to Apple's App Store. Telegram remains available on Google Play Store, allowing Android users to download and use the app without issues. This situation highlights the differences between the two major mobile platforms. ## Restoration Process Ongoing It remains unclear when Telegram will fully reappear on App Store. Despite the company's statement, the app hasn't been restored in many regions. This raises new questions about the transparency of Apple's app approval processes. ## User Reactions Telegram's disappearance from App Store caused concern and speculation among users on social media. Many questioned why the app was removed and when it would return, with some linking it to Apple's policies. Telegram's humorous posts appeared to be attempts to lighten the mood. ## Differences Between Platforms Telegram's removal only from Apple App Store once again emphasized the differences between the two major mobile platforms. Google Play Store's more flexible policies kept the app accessible for Android users, while Apple's stricter controls are seen as the source of the problem. ## Conclusion and Implications Telegram's temporary removal from App Store demonstrated the control big tech companies have over app stores and how this control affects user experience. This event reminded developers of the risks of platform dependency and the importance of alternative distribution channels. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.androidauthority.com/telegram-removed-apple-app-store-latest-update-3694102/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
