This discount is made possible because the units are classified as open-box inventory. These items have been verified to be in new condition and feature clean, original packaging. ## Open-Ring Design Philosophy These earbuds utilize a unique open-ring design specifically engineered to allow ambient sound to pass through to the user. This functionality ensures that listeners remain aware of their surroundings while consuming audio content. It serves as a practical solution for individuals who need to maintain situational awareness during daily tasks or commutes. ## Integrated V2 Processor Performance Audio quality is managed by an integrated V2 processor, which works to provide a balanced sound profile for various media types. The hardware includes an 11mm ring-shaped driver unit designed to deliver clarity across different frequencies. This combination of processing power and driver architecture aims to maintain high fidelity despite the open design. ## Adaptive Volume Control Mechanism The device incorporates adaptive volume control technology that automatically adjusts audio levels based on the user's immediate environment. This feature is particularly useful for transitioning between quiet indoor spaces and noisier outdoor settings. By dynamically modulating output, the earbuds ensure consistent listening experiences without requiring constant manual adjustments from the user interface. ## Extended Battery and Charging Users can expect up to 22 hours of total battery life when utilizing the included charging case. For urgent situations, the device supports fast power-ups, providing 60 minutes of playback time from a brief 3-minute charge. This efficiency supports the intended use case of wearing the earbuds throughout an entire workday. ## Ergonomics for Daily Wear To facilitate long-term comfort, the earbuds are equipped with air-fitting supports. These components are designed to keep the device secure in the ear without causing fatigue during extended listening sessions. The lightweight construction is essential for users who intend to wear the hardware while walking, working at desks, or performing household chores. ## Understanding Open-Box Status The units are sold as open-box, which typically indicates they were excess inventory from retail shelves rather than previously used or defective products. Each pair undergoes verification to ensure they meet quality standards before being listed for sale. This status allows consumers to acquire premium hardware at a significantly lower price point. ## Market Positioning and Utility By offering high-end features like the V2 processor and adaptive volume at a reduced price, these earbuds target consumers seeking premium audio without a triple-digit investment. The product bridges the gap between traditional noise-canceling models and open-ear alternatives. It remains a viable option for those prioritizing safety and environmental connectivity. ## Sources covering this story - https://mashable.com/tech/oct-28-sony-linkbuds-open-truly-wireless-earbuds-white-open-box — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
