This bold choice emphasizes the design's confident stance. The lamp stands out with its simplicity, while the color ensures it catches attention in any setting. ## Single-Tube Philosophy Liam de la Bedoyere's design approach relies on using a single bent tube to create animal forms. This minimalist philosophy is evident in the Duke lamp. Without extra details, the duck silhouette emerges purely from the tube's curves. ## Functional Details The lamp's head doubles as the light source, a detail that enhances functionality without disrupting the design's integrity. The light emanates from the duck's 'beak,' creating a natural and cohesive look. ## Modular Structure The visible joints where tube sections connect give the lamp a modular quality. This detail balances the playful design with a more considered aesthetic. The soft curves avoid any rigid or harsh impressions. ## Versatile Design Duke works in a child's bedroom as a playful object and in an adult living space as a sculptural piece. This versatility stems from the clarity of its core concept. It adapts seamlessly to various environments. ## Design Language De la Bedoyere isn't just creating a lamp but a design language. Starting with the Flamingo Lamp, this language revolves around using a single tube to trace animal forms. This constraint fuels creativity, aiming to produce lasting and meaningful work. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.yankodesign.com/2026/07/18/a-duck-some-bent-tubes-and-the-most-charming-lamp-of-2026/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=a-duck-some-bent-tubes-and-the-most-charming-lamp-of-2026 — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
