Montegrappa Launches Limited-Edition Lamborghini Miura Inspired Luxury Pen
Italian craftsmanship meets automotive heritage in a high-end writing instrument collection.
1Luxury Collaboration Unveiled
Italian pen manufacturer Montegrappa has partnered with Lamborghini to release a limited-edition writing collection inspired by the iconic Miura sports car. The fountain pen version is priced at approximately ₹8.79 lakh, or €8,250. This collaboration targets luxury collectors by merging automotive design aesthetics with high-end stationery craftsmanship and exclusivity.
2Design and Mechanical Features
The pen incorporates a retractable rock-crystal headlight atop the cap, mimicking the Miura’s signature lamp movement via a push-button mechanism. Its base features a Venetian grille design, while the barrel includes an engraved Lamborghini shield. The construction utilizes stainless steel and aluminium, weighing 87 grams with a total length of 161 mm.
3Technical Specifications and Options
Available in black, yellow, and green, the fountain pen offers five nib grades: extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, and a 1.1 mm stub. The 18K gold nib is ruthenium-plated for durability. It supports both cartridge and converter filling systems, and each unit arrives in premium packaging including two ink cartridges and one converter.
4Production and Scarcity
Montegrappa is producing only sixty fountain pens and sixty rollerballs to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the Miura. This limited production run emphasizes the brand's focus on exclusivity. The rollerball variant is priced lower at €6,850, approximately ₹7.30 lakh, reflecting the material and mechanical differences between the two writing instrument models.
5Evolution of Brand Partnerships
This release follows a 2023 collaboration that marked Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary with the Automobili Lamborghini 60° collection. That earlier series featured a hexagonal aluminium body and a red alloy switch inspired by engine-start buttons. The current Miura edition shifts toward rounded contours, reflecting the classic car's aesthetic rather than the previous angular design.
6Market Availability Details
Pre-orders for the Miura-inspired pens are currently active on the official Montegrappa website. While international pricing is available in Euros and Rupees, official US pricing remains unannounced. Customers can expect the first deliveries of these luxury items to commence in mid-November, following the conclusion of the initial pre-order phase for collectors.
7Material and Build Quality
The pen’s construction prioritizes premium materials, combining stainless steel and aluminium to ensure a substantial feel in the hand. The cap band and clip feature distinctive slats referencing the Miura’s engine cover design. Every component, from the ruthenium-plated nib to the shimmering metal fittings, is engineered to maintain high-precision standards for luxury users.
8Strategic Brand Positioning
By integrating automotive mechanical movements into writing instruments, Montegrappa reinforces its position in the luxury goods market. This strategy leverages the emotional connection between supercar enthusiasts and high-end craftsmanship. The transition from angular, modern-inspired designs to the classic, rounded Miura aesthetic demonstrates a calculated effort to appeal to diverse segments of collectors.
