1Project Overview

Grava House is a 565 m² residential project completed in 2024 in Pilar, Argentina, designed by remyarchitects. Situated on a lot with open views of a golf course, the house features a sequence of volumes and split levels that define both its exterior expression and interior spatial experience. The design team included Hernan Pardillos, Agustin Cosenza, Gonzalo Remy, and Camila Borzone, with interior design by Myoo Interior Architecture.

2Design Concept

The architects sought to create a balance between openness and privacy through careful spatial planning. Pathways, height variations, and natural light organization are key elements that structure domestic life within the residence. The constant presence of the surrounding landscape is integrated into the living experience, blurring boundaries between interior and exterior spaces.

3Material Selection

Concrete plays a dominant role in the material palette of Grava House, contributing to both its structural integrity and aesthetic character. The choice of materials reflects a contemporary approach to residential architecture while responding to the specific environmental conditions of the Pilar region.

4Spatial Organization

The split-level design creates dynamic spatial relationships throughout the house. This approach allows for distinct zones within the residence while maintaining visual connectivity. The varying heights and volumes generate interesting perspectives and light conditions that change throughout the day.

5Landscape Integration

The house's relationship with its golf course surroundings is fundamental to the design. Large openings and carefully positioned volumes frame views while maintaining privacy. The architects have created a dialogue between built form and natural environment that enhances the quality of living spaces.

6Technical Execution

Liwa Construcciones handled the general construction, with technical support from Julieta Rafel and Hernan Pardillos. The project demonstrates meticulous attention to detail in the execution of its concrete elements and the integration of interior design components with the architectural framework.

7Photographic Documentation

Professional photographs by Ana Grucki capture the essence of the completed project. The images highlight the interplay of light and shadow on concrete surfaces, the spatial sequencing, and the relationship between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

8Architectural Significance

Grava House represents a thoughtful approach to contemporary residential design in Argentina. Its successful integration of form, material, and landscape offers valuable insights for architects working with similar contexts. The project demonstrates how split-level designs can create dynamic living environments while maintaining functional practicality.
