Casa Luna: Harmony Between Architecture and Nature
A minimalist house design nestled in Brazil's Atlantic Forest.
1Design Integrated with Nature
Casa Luna is skillfully embedded in the pristine Atlantic Forest of Curitiba, Brazil. Positioned among araucaria trees and birdsong, the house reflects surrounding light like a minimalist satellite. Architects adopted an open-plan approach to harmonize with the natural landscape, creating seamless indoor-outdoor connections.
2Architectural Team's Vision
This 167 sqm residential project was realized through collaboration between Nommo Arquitetos and Coti Arquitetura. Led by Anderson Luís de Almeida, the team blended contemporary lines with natural materials. Coti Arquitetura's signature is evident in the interior design, which complements the architectural concept perfectly.
3Material Selection and Details
Natural stone, wood, and expansive glass surfaces dominate the material palette. This combination strengthens indoor-outdoor connectivity while ensuring energy efficiency. Construction expertise was provided by Ligare Construtora. The design balances privacy needs with panoramic views through thoughtful spatial planning.
4Spatial Organization
Located at the end of a quiet street, the house offers an urban retreat. Open-plan living areas are positioned to maximize natural light penetration. A simple yet functional circulation path organizes daily routines efficiently. This layout demonstrates how minimalist design can enhance practical living.
5Environmental Sustainability
The project showcases advanced environmental sensitivity by preserving local ecosystems. Natural ventilation systems and passive climate strategies minimize energy consumption. Construction involved minimal intervention to existing tree coverage. This approach represents a successful example of sustainable architecture in residential design.
6Contribution to Architectural Heritage
Casa Luna stands as an important work reflecting contemporary Brazilian architecture's dialogue with nature. Completed in 2021, it merges minimalist principles with functionality. Documented through Mahani Siqueira's photography, the project gained significant exposure on platforms like ArchDaily. Such designs inspire sustainable housing concepts globally.
