1Recognition of Governance Policies

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani was awarded the Distinguished Human Capital Development Champion Award by the Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria. The honor recognizes his administration's focus on people-centered policies. The ceremony took place at the Merit House in Abuja, highlighting his commitment to improving citizen welfare.

2Vocational Training Initiatives

The administration established three major vocational training centers in Rigachikun, Soba, and Saminaka. These facilities aim to train approximately 32,000 young people annually across 14 different trades. The initiative seeks to shift the youth demographic from job seekers to skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and employers of labor within the state economy.

3Educational Infrastructure Investment

Governor Sani’s administration has undertaken significant educational reforms, including the construction of 736 new classrooms and the renovation of over 1,200 existing ones. Additionally, the government recruited 10,000 new teachers and provided training for over 33,000 educators. These efforts are designed to expand access and improve the quality of learning.

4Reducing Financial Barriers

To improve accessibility, the state government reduced tuition fees in all state-owned tertiary institutions by up to 50 percent. This policy is complemented by expanded scholarship and bursary programs. These measures are intended to remove financial obstacles for students, ensuring that economic status does not prevent access to higher education.

5Agricultural Support Programs

The government distributed 1,400 truckloads of free fertilizer to 420,000 smallholder farmers across the state. This intervention serves as a critical investment in rural livelihoods and food security. By supporting farmers directly, the administration aims to foster economic independence and stabilize the agricultural sector, which remains a vital economic pillar.

6Healthcare System Revitalization

Human capital development efforts extend to the healthcare sector, where the administration has revitalized 255 primary healthcare centers. These improvements focus on underserved rural communities, ensuring better access to medical services. The government also implemented measures to improve the welfare of healthcare workers, aiming to enhance the overall quality of care.

7Inclusive Governance Strategy

Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, stated that the administration’s development agenda is anchored on inclusive governance. Interventions are designed to reach all communities regardless of political, religious, or ethnic affiliations. This approach is intended to ensure that development opportunities are distributed fairly across the entire Kaduna State population.

8Future Policy Commitments

The award serves as an encouragement for the administration to accelerate ongoing reforms in human capital development. Governor Sani remains focused on building a state where every child has access to quality education and youth can acquire productive skills. The government intends to consolidate these gains to foster long-term prosperity.
