By mounting 200 feet of lighting along the eaves once, homeowners can switch between themes like Halloween or Christmas via an app. This system eliminates the need for repeated ladder work and hardware store trips. ## Dual-Zone Precision Lighting Optics Each of the 120 light heads features dual-zone control with a 50-degree beam nested inside a 100-degree beam. This configuration creates a dual-layer fish-scale effect on siding, providing crisp illumination. Users can independently control these zones to produce complex color combinations, allowing for highly customized architectural lighting patterns across the facade. ## AI-Driven Customization and Presets The system includes over 120 pre-configured lighting themes accessible through the AiDot app. For unique requirements, the Dotis AI assistant generates custom effects based on plain-English voice or text prompts. Additionally, the Edit Canvas feature allows detail-oriented users to manually configure individual light zones for a truly bespoke exterior aesthetic. ## Technical Specifications and Performance The 200-foot ColorBlend kit delivers 12,000 total lumens, with each head producing up to 100 lumens. The lights offer tunable white temperatures ranging from 1800K to 6500K, suitable for both festive displays and subtle ambient lighting. The system is IP67-rated for durability, ensuring reliable performance throughout various weather conditions and seasons. ## Installation and Mounting Mechanics Installation involves securing heads 2 to 4 inches from the wall using 3M VHB adhesive, reinforced by screws. Waterproof threaded collars and end caps protect the connections. The system supports up to 12 strings per adapter, and users can utilize a positioning card to ensure consistent spacing along the roofline. ## Broad Smart Home Integration Linkind ensures compatibility with major smart home ecosystems, including Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings. Crucially, the system supports the Matter standard, facilitating seamless integration into modern smart home setups. Voice control and scheduling features allow the house to illuminate automatically, providing convenience for year-round use beyond just the holiday season. ## Expanded Product Line Options Beyond the ColorBlend, Linkind offers the PatternChange model for decorative lens effects and the FlexMount system for homes lacking traditional eaves. FlexMount supports both wall and ceiling installations, featuring 90 heads across 150 feet. These variants ensure that different architectural styles can accommodate permanent smart lighting solutions without requiring specific roof structures. ## Launch Pricing and Availability The ColorBlend 200-foot kit is currently priced at $699.99, reflecting a $100 discount during the pre-Black Friday launch window. The FlexMount system is also available at a 12% discount for $246.99. These promotional prices are limited to a 48-hour window, encouraging early adoption for those planning their seasonal home upgrades. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.yankodesign.com/2026/10/28/id-happily-swap-my-december-ladder-ritual-for-linkinds-matter-compatible-smart-permanent-outdoor-lights/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=id-happily-swap-my-december-ladder-ritual-for-linkinds-matter-compatible-smart-permanent-outdoor-lights — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
