He will serve as a color commentator for Fox Sports during the New England Patriots matchup against the Green Bay Packers. This appearance marks his inaugural broadcast role at his former home field. ## Legacy of a Dynasty Brady spent twenty historic years with the Patriots, securing six Super Bowl titles alongside coach Bill Belichick. Throughout his tenure in New England, he earned three MVP awards, passed for 74,571 yards, and recorded 541 touchdowns. His career began as the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft before his 2019 departure. ## Emotional Homecoming Experience Reflecting on his return, Brady expressed deep sentiment regarding the stadium where he played countless championship and rivalry games. He noted that every corner of the facility, from locker rooms to the field, holds significant personal history. He aims to convey the organization's unique culture to fans during the upcoming live broadcast. ## Focus on Team Identity During his commentary, Brady intends to shift the focus away from his personal achievements. Instead, he plans to highlight the Patriots' organizational philosophy and their consistent approach to professional football. He emphasized that his goal is to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of the program that defined his legendary career. ## Statistical Dominance Comparison The game features the two franchises with the highest winning records since Super Bowl XXXI in 1996. The Patriots hold a league-best 327-166 record over the last thirty years, while Green Bay follows with a 310-180-3 mark. Both teams have reached the playoffs 22 times during this three-decade span of consistent success. ## Current Season Context The Patriots enter this Sunday's contest with a 5-3 record, currently sitting second in the AFC East. The team remains focused on Super Bowl contention following their defeat in February's season finale against the Seattle Seahawks. This matchup serves as a critical test for New England as they navigate the 2026 regular season. ## Broadcasting and Viewing Details Fans can watch the game live on Sky Sports NFL starting at 9.25pm this Sunday. The broadcast is part of the broader 2026 NFL season coverage, which includes every minute of the playoffs. Viewers can access the game through Sky Sports or stream it contract-free via the NOW platform for full coverage. ## Broader NFL Landscape The 2026 season continues toward Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for February 14, 2027. Beyond this specific game, the league remains active with ongoing trades, injury updates, and roster adjustments. Analysts are closely watching emerging contenders like the Chicago Bears, who recently bolstered their roster with a high-profile trade involving defensive star Jeffery Simmons. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.skysports.com/nfl/news/12040/13608003/tom-brady-seven-time-super-bowl-champion-returns-to-new-england-patriots-as-broadcaster-for-first-time-at-foxboro — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
