1Design Studio Collaboration

Swiss design studio BIG-GAME has expanded the Pedestal Power Series, focusing on the unglamorous territory of cable management. Rather than hiding power strips in black plastic boxes, the collection introduces silicone rings, steel covers, and trays. These products aim to make necessary electrical messes easier to live around within domestic settings.

2The Cable Bagel Concept

The Cable Bagel, crafted from flexible silicone, gathers cords into a doughnut-shaped body. Available in blue, green, pink, and cream, it functions as a chunky tabletop accessory rather than industrial equipment. It provides excess cords with a recognizable, intentional shape, preventing the accidental piles typically found behind televisions or under desks.

3Architectural Utility Cart

The Cable Villa is a steel box designed to hold cables, adapters, and power strips. Featuring wheels and a rooflike lid, it resembles a miniature utility cart. This design allows the organizer to remain visible in a living room, providing architectural dignity to hardware that is usually shoved out of sight.

4Functional Mobility Features

The wheels on the Cable Villa offer practical repositioning, allowing users to access connections when necessary. While the range of movement is limited by the length of connected cables, the design prioritizes accessibility. It acts as a container for existing hardware, sitting beside furniture rather than hiding apologetically behind it.

5Systematic Power Accessories

The collection includes the powder-coated steel Power Shell and Power Tower, which interact with the Pedestal Power Beam. These accessories offer flexibility, allowing users to screen off power strips or keep sockets reachable. Providing both vertical and flat orientations acknowledges that different user habits require distinct, specialized physical forms for organization.

6Integrated Work Surface Storage

The steel Power Tray extends organization onto the work surface, creating dedicated space for cables and small essentials around the Power Beam. By placing storage exactly where connections happen, the design treats cable management as an integrated task. This approach moves beyond conventional desk organizers by directly addressing the power strip relationship.

7Pricing and Selection Strategy

The Cable Bagel is priced at $45, while the Cable Villa costs $180, indicating a premium for visual design. Purchasing the entire collection is unnecessary for most setups. Instead, selecting one specific piece—like the Bagel for loose cords or the Villa for larger collections—offers the most convincing and cost-effective improvement.

8Redefining Domestic Organization

These products do not promise a wire-free fantasy or fewer devices. Instead, they offer the attainable pleasure of making room for existing technology. By turning utilitarian hardware into objects with character, Pedestal proves that cable management can be a design choice rather than a chore, enhancing the overall composure of a workspace.
