1Quant QSIF Market Dominance

Quant Mutual Fund’s QSIF Hybrid Long-Short Fund achieved a 25.5% return over the last six months. This performance significantly outpaced six other hybrid long-short Specialised Investment Funds tracked by SIF360. Most competing funds in this specific category failed to exceed a 5% return during the same six-month observation period.

2Competitive Performance Gap

The Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund from Aditya Birla Sun Life ranked second, delivering a 6.78% return. Quant’s lead over Apex reached 19.22 percentage points within the six-month window. Furthermore, QSIF recorded a 20.58% return over three months, while Apex managed only 4.06% during that shorter timeframe, highlighting a substantial performance divergence.

3Long-Term Inception Gains

Since its inception, Quant’s QSIF has generated a 28.82% return, maintaining its lead over peers. The Altiva Hybrid Long-Short Fund by Edelweiss Mutual Fund holds the second position with a 9.54% return since inception. These figures underscore the fund's ability to maintain a performance advantage across both short and long-term horizons.

4Dynamic Asset Allocation Strategy

Unlike conventional equity funds, QSIF integrates equity, debt, and money market instruments. The strategy includes exposure to REITs and InvITs, allowing managers to adjust allocations based on economic outlooks. Equity and debt instruments each occupy 25-75% of the portfolio, while REITs and InvITs are capped at a 20% maximum allocation limit.

5Hedging and Derivative Capabilities

The investment framework permits unhedged short positions in equity and debt derivatives up to 25%. Additionally, the fund can utilize hedged positions up to 100%, subject to specific scheme restrictions. This flexibility allows the fund to navigate varying market conditions by balancing risk through active derivative usage and tactical asset shifts.

6Management and Launch Details

Launched on 15 October 2025, the QSIF fund is managed by a team including Jignesh Shah, Sanjeev Sharma, Sandeep Tandon, Sameer Kate, and Ankit A Pande. Jignesh Shah has served as a fund manager since 20 February 2026, while the other listed managers have been associated with the fund since 25 September 2025.

7Investor Requirements and Profile

The minimum investment requirement for these SIF strategies is generally ₹10 lakh per investor. This category is specifically designed for sophisticated investors who possess a deep understanding of complex investment strategies and associated risks. Accredited investors may be subject to applicable exemptions regarding these minimum capital entry requirements for the fund.

8Evaluating Performance Consistency

Investors should exercise caution due to the relatively short track records of these SIF schemes. Six-month returns do not necessarily reflect performance during prolonged market declines or sharp volatility shifts. It remains critical to assess underlying investment strategies and portfolio risks rather than relying solely on recent high-percentage return figures.
