This feature will automatically unlock your watch when you unlock your Pixel phone. ## Reverse of the current system Currently, Pixel watches help unlock the phone. The new feature will reverse this process, allowing the phone to unlock the watch. ## Exclusive to Pixel devices The feature will be available exclusively on Pixel devices through Google's Connected Phone Watch Services app. It won't be a general Wear OS component. ## User-friendly design The feature will eliminate the need for users to enter a PIN or pattern on their watch. Instead, unlocking the phone will automatically unlock the watch. ## One-time setup The feature will require a one-time setup. Users will need to verify their watch's existing credentials. ## Ease of use This feature will provide significant convenience for users who frequently need to unlock their watches throughout the day. Entering a PIN on the small screen of Pixel watches can be cumbersome. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-phone-to-watch-unlock-3691338/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
