Simulator Support Added to Claude Code for Mac
iOS, iPadOS and visionOS simulators now work within Claude Code app.
1Simulator Feature Introduced
Claude Code's Mac app now includes a new simulator button supporting iOS, iPadOS, visionOS and watchOS simulators. When opening an existing project, an iPhone icon appears that opens a simulator panel on the right by default. Users can select their preferred simulator from the available list.
2Multiple Simulator Support
While the system allows running multiple simulators simultaneously, this may cause performance issues on older devices like M1 Max Mac Studio. Having simulators running makes Claude Code more effective at detecting UI bugs during the development process.
3Automated Testing and Debugging
After launching the simulator, users can instruct Claude Code to run and test their application. The system automatically builds the app, installs it in the simulator, and performs error checks. In tests with a simple word game, it successfully identified and fixed a UI bug.
4Integrated Operation
Claude Code runs the simulator directly within its application interface without opening separate windows, allowing users to continue other tasks uninterrupted. This update follows the recent addition of a sandboxed browser, further enhancing the developer experience.
5User Experience Benefits
Initial testing shows the simulator integration creates a simple yet effective workflow. The entire process from bug detection to fixes and commits can be managed within a single environment. This feature proves particularly valuable for mobile app developers seeking time-saving tools.
6Advancement for Developer Tools
This update represents a significant step in streamlining mobile development processes. With integrated simulator support, developers can test across different devices and OS versions from one platform. This enhancement stands out as a quality improvement for product development workflows.
